The Puppy Pen
At about 7 weeks they move from inside our house to the puppy house right out side the back door ( with access to the patio deck ) Although the patio deck is where they are most of the time waiting for more food ;-0.

The Back

THE BACK
A simple footer was built about 6 inches larger all around than the kennel was. Cement blocks were put on the two outer edges of the pad as footers for the downward slope of the ground. These would then fill with concrete and aid in the soundness of the pad. Gravel was added up to the level of the depth of pad I desired, which was about 4 1/2 inches.

The inside was trimmed in 2 X as level to the height of the which the cement was to be poured and again gravel was added for a pad thickness of about 4 1/2 inches.
